COVID-19/Coronavirus Update: Committed to meeting your needs

The world is a crazy place right now. In light of what is happening, we believe that rapid, high-quality research is more important than ever. Here's a little update on where we at Prolific stand currently, and our view towards the coming months.

First, rest assured: Prolific isn't going anywhere! We're fortunate that the majority of our team works remotely already. Plus, as of a couple of weeks ago, we have instituted a company-wide work-from-home policy. By self-isolating, we're doing what we can to protect not only ourselves but also more vulnerable members of society.

While Prolific will continue to provide a platform for researchers and participants alike, please note that we are putting our primary focus on studies that aim to slow down the spread/growth of COVID-19. As such, our capacity for support in other areas will be reduced for the time being. Please be patient with us – we appreciate that this is a difficult time for everyone. We are doing all we can to make sure that the platform continues to run smoothly.

If you're interested in reading about some of the research going on in this area, check out this large scale survey, covering 58 countries and over 100,000 participants. It studies attitudes towards citizens’ and governments’ responses to the COVID-19 pandemic, and how this impacts on mental health.

This project has also been made possible via Prolific. By recruiting a sample that's nationally representative of the United States (N = 1,032), the researchers found that focusing on duties and responsibilities toward family, friends and fellow citizens could be an effective strategy for convincing others to adopt behaviours that slow the spread of COVID-19.

Our thoughts go out to anyone who has been affected during this difficult time, and we hope that you and your loved ones are safe and well.
